One on One Youth Support

The Youth Support Program is available to young people aged 12-25 years old who live, work or study in the City of Manningham and feel that they could benefit from some one-on-one support. One of our qualified youth team members will provide a tailored approach to supporting the young person, depending on their needs and the issues that they may be dealing with.

Why do we offer Youth Support?
For many young people adolescence is an exciting time when they are discovering their independence and identity. As they grow and develop they can experience a multitude of social, emotional, physical and intellectual changes. This can be a challenging period for many, as they may be unsure of how to deal with or respond to certain issues. Some of these issues may include the following: family conflict, housing, financial stress, mental health & wellbeing, engaging in education/work, disconnection from the community, problematic alcohol or drug use, sexuality & gender identity.

What does the Youth Support Program Offer?
This program aims to empower young people to work through some of these challenges via short term (3-6 month), strengths based and goal orientated, individualized support.
The Youth Support Coordinator is a qualified Social Worker, registered with the AASW and will deliver a solution focused response. Engagement in this program will ensure a supportive environment which encourages the young person to develop strategies and sustainable solutions.
